The Department of Psychology at Texas A&M University subscribes to the land-grant mission of this university, which is to provide education to the general public, and to the six Aggie Core Values. Consistent with the land grant mission, Texas A&M’s own mission statement, and the Aggie Core Values, we believe that our campus should be an environment conducive to learning, where all students feel safe and respected. As a department and as psychologists, we condemn any actions that threaten these values. The faculty, the administration, and those who respect the values of higher education need to do more to create and enact institutional policies that will make Texas A&M University more accessible to and hospitable for all members of our community. We remain committed to maintaining our department as a safe space where all people are valued.
