Graduate Program Information
Admission to the Ph.D. program in Psychology is competitive.
Students admitted to the program typically have GRE (Verbal +
Quantitative) scores of 1200 or above, and GPAs of 3.50 or higher.
The Department does not accept applications from individuals seeking
a terminal master's degree.

Admission Procedures
Applications for admission must be received
by January 5. Admission of new students
is made only for the Fall Semester each
year. Review of student application
files begins within days after the deadline,
and notification of acceptance is made
in March. For application forms, please

Applicants with master's degrees from
other schools:
There is no terminal master's degree
program in Psychology at Texas A&M.
Only students intending to complete
a doctoral program should apply. We
welcome applications from students who
have completed a master's degree at
another institution. Master's students
will receive credit for their thesis
if it consists of an empirical research
study and meets departmental standards
of quality. If not already defended
and approved at the student's former
institution, the thesis must be approved
by the end of the student's first semester
at Texas A&M.
