Research Interests

  • Individual differences (e.g., goal orientation)
  • Predictors of turnover including organizational commitment, mentoring, and work-family conflict
  • Antecedents and outcomes of safety and diversity climate
  • The measurement and prediction of efficiency in the workplace
  • Criterion development and performance appraisal

Current Research

Some research questions I am currently examining include:

  • When is goal orientation likely to relate to performance?

  • How does job satisfaction and organizational commitment change over time?

  • When does telework facilitate work-family balance?

  • What variables moderate the safety climate-accident relationship?

  • What is the relative influence of rewards on organizational attractiveness?

  • What is the relationship between efficiency and effectiveness and how do they each contribute to overall productivity?

  • What task strategies predict efficiency?

  • What are the antecedents and outcomes of a climate for efficiency vs. a climate for safety?
