Research Interests

Broadly, my research has focused on bringing rigorous methods to bear on classic and applied questions in social and personality psychology. Although the specific research question has varied, these lines of investigation are unified by their focus on understanding the dynamic interplay of individual differences, situational factors, and cognitive processes in important outcomes such as meaning in life, substance use and abuse, magical beliefs and behaviors, and personality development. See below for selected publications.
