There are close to 100 doctoral students in the Department of Psychology. Graduate students are integral to the success of ongoing programs of research within the Department. Faculty in all training areas work closely with graduate students in designing, conducting, and communicating research at professional conferences and in journal articles. Graduate students serve as teaching and research assistants throughout their tenure in the program. Some students are funded by fellowships awarded by Texas A&M University, as well as by external sources such as the National Science Foundation and the American Psychological Association.
