Congratulations to George T. and Gladys H. Abell Professor Les Morey who recently received the American Psychological Association’s 2016 award for Distinguished Scientific Contributions to Clinical Psychology. This is one of the most prestigious awards given by the American Psychological Association, the largest professional organization for psychologists in the country. Dr. Morey received the award at the Association’s annual meeting in Denver this August. Dr. Morey’s research interests include the measurement of personality and psychopathology. He teaches courses in personality and psychological assessment. He is best known as the developer of a personality assessment instrument that has become the gold standard for assessing psychiatric disorders and has improved the assessment and treatment of people with mental health disorders worldwide.
