Recruit, retain, and develop top scientific minds:
Our faculty members include many of the top researchers in the field, and we are actively recruiting more. Support for endowed professor and endowed chair positions as well as research funding for initiatives and faculty is critical to this development. Such support permits us to provide state-of-the-art technology to our faculty and to support them as they pursue their science.
Develop high-quality undergraduate education that is modern and end-focused:
We have a large number of majors and minors who are some of the best at the university and become leaders after graduation. Many of our students come from underrepresented backgrounds and many are first-generation students. Support for undergraduate scholarships, study abroad programs, and classroom enhancements helps to broaden the educational experience of our students.
Develop leading doctoral programs:
Our graduate students emerge from their program as leaders in their field in academic and industry settings. Frequently they struggle to find the resources necessary for their education and their research studies. Support for graduate scholarships and graduate research support permits our students to focus on what is most important – pursuing their degree and contributing to the world.
Support research and teaching infrastructure:
The Psychology Department is currently split among five locations, often in historic buildings. Our development is contingent on our ability to maintain and enhance this space. Support for building updates, renovation, and construction supports our development now and in the future.
If you have an interest in supporting these efforts of your former department, feel free to contact me, Heather Lench, Department Head, at email@example.com or 979- 845-2581, or click on the “Give Now” button below and then designate to “direct my gift to a specific account within the College of Liberal Arts” and search for “Psychology.”
