The overall goal of my research is to provide fundamental information for improving pharmaceutical treatment of individuals with mental illness, while also providing basic information on modulatory neurotransmitter systems, such as norepinephrine. I am currently working in the fear lab of Dr. Stephen Maren (Co-Editor, Behavioural Brain Research) where we perform in vivo neural recordings to study the basis of stress-related neuropsychiatric disorders.
