My current research focuses on two areas: safety climate and workplace incivility. Within safety climate, I investigate the effects of individual and organizational factors on safety climate, which is related to workplace incidents and accidents. I also examine whether different configurations of safety climate could influence safety-related outcomes. Within workplace incivility, I explore the mechanisms of how workplace incivility influences work outcomes such as turnover, burnout, and job satisfaction. Several other specific topics I’m interested in are: counterfactual thinking, creativity, trust, and quantitative methodologies.
